the bear effect.

so an analogy courtesy of one of the comments on this blog felt fitting: “If you watch documentary shows about brown bears, you can see the shots where the angle says basically the camera dude is standing about ten feet away for a lot of the shots of healthy adult bears. But only healthy adult bears. Ever wonder why they’ll get so close to the ones that actually pose a risk to them?
Because while the adults are placid and good-natured, if momma bear thinks you’re messing with her cubs she will tear you limb from limb. That’s pretty much true of all mammals. In that light, reminding people to make use of that self-preservation instinct is kind of a public service.” (FLAMINGSWORD)
i absolutely agree. having my son has put me and calm and peace where in the past i felt like a powder keg often. but there is some “preda-natural” thing that goes off inside of me when i feel like my son is being harmed. that being said. since having him ive realized that i want to make steps to being a better person in general. its more important to me now than ever before to be a good role model. getting so angry over something so small. saying hostile things. insulting people in a hurtful way is juvenile- i expect more of myself. so for that im sorry.

ok…. next post will be a fun. one- the “seriousity” of these past two have sucked.
